Guides, features and news

Guides explain a task or subject. Features examine a wider question or trade-off. Examples in features are illustrative; they are not interviews or reports of events we witnessed.

News and official updates report a particular announcement or development. Each item shows its publication date, the date of the source event and a link to the original publisher. These are dated reports, not live warnings. Use the official warning and service-status pages linked in the article for current conditions.

Sources and claims

We link to government departments, public services, regulators, specialist charities and other relevant sources. An article's source list records where its factual guidance comes from. A source-check date records a check of published material, not a product test or professional medical review.

Equipment specifications and buying considerations are different from measured performance. We do not describe a product as tested by us unless an actual test is documented. A general guide cannot confirm that a battery suits a particular medical device or that a local service will be available at your address.

Our articles use original wording. We do not reproduce another publication's articles, invent interviews or use generated photographs as evidence of real people, places or equipment.
